The Town Tourism Committee has replaced several signs in town. They also re-stained each of the sign structures and did some landscaping to make the signs more accessible. This great new sign has been erected on Reservoir Hill at the Spa Trailhead. It has maps of the town, the hill’s trail system and other promotional material. Other new signs have been placed at the San Juan Trailhead, JJ’s, Visitor Center parking lot, Hwy 84 at Buckles Lake, West Fork Valley Overlook on the pass, Town Park and Rotary Park.
Notice the frame and protective roof that was erected a few years ago. This high quality sign will last for years to come. It makes one wonder why Pagosa doesn’t take care of its art work in the same way.
This mural is weathering at a fast rate because of exposure to rain and harsh sunlight on the south facing mural.
A lot of work went into the mural and if something isn’t done soon, it will become an eyesore on main street and have to be removed. What a shame!
