Burns Canyon Fire Report

The Burns Fire, still estimated at 170 acres in Archuleta County 12 miles southwest of Pagosa Springs, is now 50% contained.  Three firefighting crews are working in steep rugged terrain with engine support. No air support will be used today, as retardant lines from earlier this week have held.  The fire started on private lands and spread onto Southern Ute Indian Reservation.  Its origin has not been determined at this time.
