Durango’s “[email protected] Park” Schedule
“[email protected] Park” June 29 features Halden Wofford and the Hi*Beams
Free concerts in Durango’s Buckley Park presented by Community Concert Hall/Alpine Bank
DURANGO, Colo. – “Rocked up” Texas honky tonk and western swing are next up at “Concerts @ The Park” on June 29, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. as Halden Wofford and the Hi*Beams are set to take the stage in Durango’s Buckley Park as the Community Concert Hall/Alpine Bank summer series continues.
Called one of Colorado’s most popular and enduring acts, Halden Wofford and the Hi*Beams, based out of Denver, offer up a rootsy, but not revivalist, rollicking stage performance of country music that is called boundless and electrifying.
Equal parts Hank Williams and Johnny Depp, front man Halden Wofford pours forth a potent mix of everything from Dylanesque originals to spaghetti western epics, with no creative limit to the songwriter, illustrator, author, storyteller and singer.
Wrote Marquee Magazine, Boulder, Colo. “With some of the choicest players on the Front Range and a professionalism that is bar-none, the Hi Beams landed themselves on the famed NPR show “A Prairie Home Companion” in recent years and Wofford’s distinct vocals continue to garner the band well-earned attention.”

Concertgoers are asked to bring their own chairs or blankets, as seating is not provided at Buckley Park. Fired Up Pizzeria and Schlotzsky’s will offer small food items for sale at the park, but picnics are invited.
