Eclipse Viewing from Pagosa Springs Medical Center
Recently I asked Ruth if she would like for me to clean my old welder’s helmet so she could show the eclipse to a couple friends at the Medical Center’s Rural Clinic. She asked permission and soon it was a larger event for the entire hospital. This is not my first go around with astronomy events, in 1986 the late Kate Terry and I arranged “A Halley’s Comet Night in Pagosa Springs” for adults and children. We had an art contest for the kids and telescopes set out for all. We had no idea, but ultimately someone called out the State Patrol to manage traffic at the Fair Grounds! This solar eclipse event, held just for hospital staff, was considerably calmer.
