Flower Power Train this Weekend
The Flower Power Train revs up and departs Antonito, CO this Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. on the C&TS RR.
Due to recent rains in San Luis Valley, CO and on Cumbres Pass, NM, the Wild Flowers have invaded the terrain. The pictures displayed were taken on Sunday, July 30, 2017 by President John Bush as he escorted a group of people who got an early view of what those who ride the Wild Flower/Botany Train will see this Sunday, August 6, 2017. This trip includes experts who will inform, entertain and host the new inter-species relationships formed on this special train.
This unique special train, features mountain botanicals with expert native guides who will provide a memorable learning experience on the trip.
Passengers can start the trip at 7:00 a.m. by taking the luxury motorcoach from Chama, NM or from Antonito, CO. The train departs at 8:30 a.m. Ride with us for a leisurely day of enjoying and learning about the special and beautiful natural environment along our railroad. Savor and enjoy the tasty lunch at Osier, CO as part of this special day.
Ms. Mary Dubler will also be on-board to provide information. She is an avid hiker, amateur photographer and wildflower enthusiast who has been photographing and identifying flowers in Colorado since 1995. Her website, wildflowersofcolorado .com, includes more than 730 different flowers from across the state. Mary and her husband John enjoy exploring Colorado trails and places in the quest to find flowers to add to her photo collection.
In addition to the wonderful lunch at Osier, riders will get a guidebook prepared especially for this trip. Other guidebooks and plant guides for the region will be available for purchase on the train and at Osier.
