God Bless The Pirates, Mud and All
As I go about town I often see our high school kids. I think, from this and other experiences, that our kids are a bit more clear eyed and wholesome than most. Owe it to the type of people who live or move here, the school system and, maybe, there is something in the water! We seem to have a lot of excellence produced by our kids both during school and after graduation. The one I know best is my son, Ian Vance. He went to local schools from kinder garden to graduation. He attended Ft. Lewis College in Durango and later earned a masters in Special Education and is working on a second. He was a product of the local schools and the Sisson Library. He now teaches the children of some of the smartest people on earth in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Well done, Pagosa!
The Pirate Plunge Mud Run is a 5K designed for all athletic abilities. It’s not a “race” in the traditional sense. It is an untimed obstacle course designed to push you slightly out of your comfort zone, but only as far as you want to go. Come run with us and enjoy summer in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. You’ll find fun, excitement and camaraderie. There will even be music and adult beverages to help celebrate your achievement. The Pirate Plunge Mud Run promises to be a day you’ll never forget.
See the fun below and get to the Plunge this Saturday.
The Pirate Plunge is a wonderful event to be a spectator, assuming you don’t want to enter and get muddy. Some binoculars and a fold out deck chair are good ideas or you may want to follow the racers around the short distances involved.
