Health Insurance Enrollment Deadline
Health Insurance Enrollment Deadline is January 31
The deadline to apply for health insurance is rapidly approaching. After Januray 31 Coloradans will no longer be able to enroll in health insurance through Connect for Health Colorado or apply for Federal tax credits to help pay for their insurance. However, anyone who lost health insurance because their coverage was canceled by Rocky Mountain Health Plans has until February 28 to enroll in a plan through Connect for Health Colorado.
Anyone who pays for their own health insurance, or who does not have insurance and is not eligible for insurance coverage through an employer or other source can use Connect for Health Colorado to shop for health insurance. Enrollment prior to the deadline ensures health coverage will begin March 1, which is sufficient to avoid tax penalties for being without insurance.
Beyond the deadline, health insurance enrollment is only available to those who have qualifying life changes, such as losing employer coverage, having a baby, turning 26, or moving to a different zip code or county.
