Homecoming With Jesus by Pastor Mark S. Disbrow

Homecoming With Jesus
A short time after Jesus had been raised from the dead and ascended back into heaven, many people had gathered at the poolside where a lame beggar had just been healed by the Apostle Peter and John. Peter gave the credit to Jesus. He pointed out to the crowd that this same Jesus was the one whom they had disowned and delivered to Pilate to be crucified.
Peter said to the crowd, “Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19).
Dear reader, have you disowned Jesus in your life? Have you also quit attending church and Bible studies? Jesus’ message is simple. Repent and return. Repent by acknowledging that you have left Him. Return to your first love. He is there with open arms ready to welcome you home! Jesus promises that your sins will be wiped away. You will experience those times of refreshing that come only from being in the presence of the Lord.
Pagosans are blessed to be living in an incredibly beautiful area. As we look at the scenery, Jesus’ fingerprints are everywhere. This beauty facilitates our times of refreshing as we repent of our sins and turn back to the One who loves us with an everlasting love. Jesus too would go into the mountains to be alone with His Father.
May I suggest that today you go get your “alone time” with your Heavenly Father? Talk to Him. Then return to church full of His presence in your life. What a wonderful homecoming that will be.
Grace and peace to you,
