Medical Center Updates and New Video Premier
The Pagosa Springs Medical Center has seen a lot of activity recently with the thrust coming from the opening of the new wing. Grants and fund raising continue and progress is seen in several areas. Having observed and been a part of the local health care system for over a quarter century it is indeed heart warming to see the entirety of the hospital now and know it will serve for many years to come.
From Brad Cochennet, CEO Pagosa Springs Medical Center
We were awarded a matching grant from the State of Colorado for 1/2 and ambulance ($108,713.00). Our Emergency Medical Services responded to 1127 calls so far this year. We have 4 ambulances in rotation ideally running 3 at a time.
Our donor recognition wall across from the registration area is almost complete and is waiting for a few final touches. The thickness and the color of the tile reflect the donation levels. The levels are additive and the tiles are easily changed to reflect a move to a higher donation category. For example, someone who has donated $22,000 and has an orange tile, then donates $4,000 more would then move up to a red tile.
We have 2 additional areas exhibiting donor recognition: outside of the mammography suite, and next to the old clinic in the memory garden on the boulder.
