Spring is fast approaching, or at least March is, and we need to celebrate the transition from winter sports to spring/summer sports with the first annual Pagosa Spring Quad this Sat, March 3rd.
The Challenge consists of a 5 or 10 K ski at the West Fork a 4k run on Hwy 160 to Treasure Falls and down to the chain up station where bikers will ride to the Spring Inn for a 1/2k swim. Registration begins Saturday at the Chamber at 8am, $30. If you want to volunteer or just watch or help just one leg of the event, Please Call DOUG and show up at 7:30am at the Chamber with you skiis, bikes, etc. and we’ll take you and your equip up so you can bike back for the swim/soak. 946-1489
Please we need volunteers and course monitors on the course with skiis, bikes and lap counters (without swim suits on) at the pool. PLEASE Contact Doug and/or just show up at the Chamber at 7:30 Sat morning, March 3rd.

The Pagosa Nordic Club and Wolf Creek Wheel Club tested a new event concept with The Pagosa Quad Sunday. It included a 10K Nordic ski at the West Fork, a run down 160 to the winter gate/chain pull off area, a bike ride to The Springs Resort and 10 laps of swimming. The over all winner was Kevin Anderson shown here just after his last lap.

Join the Pagosa Nordic Club this Saturday, March 3rd, for the 1st Annual Pagosa Springs Quad Challenge. This years Quad Challenge includes a 5km Classic X-C Ski or 10km Skate Ski, 3km (feels like 5km) Road Run, 22km Road Bike and a 1km swim. Registration is $30 per person for solo racers or each team member of up to four, and includes a soaking pass to the springs resort afterwards.

Participants are asked to park in the Dr. Mary Fisher Park and to meet at the Chamber of Commerce for registration and equipment shuttles early Saturday morning. Shuttles will leave at 8am, so please be early to allow for registration and to organize your gear. The 5km and 10km X-C Ski starts at 9am at the West Fork Nordic Trails. Runners then start from the West Fork trail and head to treasure falls, where they turn around and run west to the chain up area along the north shoulder of Hwy 160 to finish a 3km run. Bicyclist then road bike 22km back to town for a 1km swim in the Springs Resort pool.
