Most Roads & Trails Open on the San Juan National Forest…GO!
As a result of changing weather and fire conditions, the area closure put in place for the Little Sand Fire has been lifted, as have all trail closures (including the Piedra River Trail) and most road closures. Roads that are re-opening are First Fork #622, Monument Park West #630, and Trail Ridge #639; the Mosca Road (631) remains closed at the Weminuche Valley. CAUTION: While these areas have been re-opened to the public, numerous hazards may still be present as a result of the fire, including dead/dying trees, trail washouts, isolated hot spots, etc. Please utilize extra caution when entering any of these areas.
