A stunning time to be in the woods with fall colors covering the spectrum.

Bring ankles! While parts of the course are on wide access roads there are deep woods miles with trails trampled by cattle, elk and deer and the occasional cat or bear.

Perfect weather, incredible leaves changing colors and crisp mountain air! Come take a run through some of the most remote and pristine old growth forest in the United States. The climbs are great, topping out at just over 9,800′ with more than 5,000′ of vertical gain in the 50k and 8,300′ of gain in the 50 mile. Run it if you can!

The ultra off-road course visits several mountain areas to the west of Turkey Springs, Chris Mountain, Middle Mountain, Horse Mountain and Devil Mountain. The terrain is nothing short of spectacular. It’s the perfect location for a fall run! Incredible views, single-track and changing fall colors.

The 1/2 marathon course is NEW this year! Still an “out and back”, running to the final aid station and returning. It offers much more single-track and technical terrain. (For those that ran it last year we’ve taken out most of the “Road From Hell!” We strongly recommend that you run with a camelback or water bottle!

50k and 50mile aid stations are fully stocked and located every six miles or so. We strongly recommend that you run with a water bottle or camelback! It is dry here and can be warm. 50 mile runners,,,, The section from the 50/50 “split, aid station #4 at mile 23.5 to aid station #5 at mile 31.9 is remote, rugged and 8 miles long! Carry two bottles at least and or a full camelback. This section is extremely beautiful and extremely remote…. You will most likely be alone for very long stretches and should plan accordingly.

Last year we added a bonfire and casual party at the finish line to keep the running community together and allow friends and family to be involved in the awards and finish. It was a great success and will be bigger and better this year. We will provide more food and be grill’n brats and burgers! Coors has graciously provided a great assortment of cold beer and we’ll have snacks, soda etc.
