With the lowest snow fall in a long long time, some Pagosans braved the balmy weekend weather and celebrated winter anyway. Here are a few shots of the activity.
Early Saturday a few Nordic skiers raced and shot at the biathlon.
An extra challenge this year was shooting down at targets. All shooting is done with famous Red Ryder BB Guns. No one shot their eye out!
With the pleasant weather it was lovely just having a nice ski on real snow.
Back in Town things were a little different! The Humane Society held The Barkus Parade and had a good crowd of people, dogs and dinosaurs.
Some owners were more decorated than their dogs. In this case the dog wore camo!
Some dogs took it in stride and were cool with it…
while others were tails and ears down and a bit mortified.
Voted most colorful, excepting for noted lady in photo above.
The fat tire bicycle demo in Yamaguchi Park had riders testing bikes on the street and near by dirt track.
Annie Sewell seemed to be welcoming everyone west as far as Durango to come ride a fat tire.
And then there was the water, the very cold water! The Penguin Plunge had a huge crowd watching good citizens jump into the river for money for their cause.
They thought team work would make the pain better. I don’t think so!
He thought a dog coming along for the plunge was a good idea. The dog thought the pretty lady dog on shore was more fun. Plan to be here next year for the fun of WinterFest.
