The Pippins have put together some great programs for July – come out for an evening talk or morning hike and learn something new! They are partially being sponsored by the Blue Spruce Campground and RV Park – Thanks, Kent! http://www.bluesprucervpark.com/
Saturday Programs at Blue Spruce RV Park & Cabins
Programs take place at 7pm at the Pavilion:
JULY 21: [NO PROGRAM]
JULY 28: TREES / WILDFIRES
Come learn about trees, how they grow, and take a closer look at which trees are commonly seen around the Lake Vallecito area. This is the 10th anniversary of the Missionary Ridge fire. With so many wildfires in Colorado come and learn about fire ecology.
GUIDED NATURE HIKES (Free to all) Meet at Vallecito Trail Head every Wednesday and Saturday at 9:00am (except July 21)
Take a leisurely walk along the beautiful Vallecito Trail while your volunteer guide talks about the variety of trees, flowers and plants you see in this area. Also learn about the history of the people who have lived here, and the geology that brought them here.
Please no dogs on this walk.
All programs are free to the public and are sponsored by San Juan Mountains Association, San Juan National Forest and BLM Tres Rios Field Office.
