The San Juan Shootist Club hosted the The Colorado State Quick Draw Championships at the fair. It was a two day affair of shooting,  shooting and more shooting. One observer noted that people were talking about the “western town” developing over in the corner of the county property!  Ed.

Eighty competitors, some with their families arrived in Pagosa Springs last weekend to compete in the Cowboy Fast Draw Association’s 2012 Colorado State Championship held on August 3rd, 4th and 5th at the Archuleta County Fair.  The competition was hosted by Pagosa Springs local Cowboy Fast Draw club, The San Juan Shootists.

The competitors represented 13 Cowboy Fast Draw clubs from Idaho to Texas and from California to Missouri.  They compete in three different categories based on gender and age.  Following are the top 10 results in each division.
