Supporting the Geothermal Greenhouse Project
The Geothermal Greenhouse Project began many years ago and, because of hard volunteer work from many Pagosans over the years, has become a major contributor to the town of Pagosa Springs. With the recent announcement of two new greenhouses the project is reaching fulfillment. It is one of Pagosa’s great success stories and, at this time of year of contributions and goodwill, deserves support from the citizens.

If you are already a GGP member, thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you often in 2018.
If you’ve been thinking about becoming a GGP member for a while – watched the first dome being built, attended a workshop or maybe even made a donation. Well, now is the time to become a Sustaining Member or maybe even a Guardian of the Greenhouse.
A Sustaining Member commits any monthly amount that fits your budget. Membership benefits include discounts on workshops and events, invitations to our member only events and the satisfaction that you are a part of one of the most innovative projects in our community. If you pledge a minimum of $20 per month, you also become a Guardian of the Greenhouse which, in addition to a special tee-shirt, gives you access to the Education Dome whenever you please. Now that’s a great member benefit!!
And to sweeten the pot even more, anyone who becomes a Sustaining Member by December 31, 2017, will be entered into a drawing for a basket full of wonderful gifts to keep you warm and comfortable throughout these cold nights. The drawing will take place on January 13, 2018 at our member appreciation event (mark your calendars today).
So why is becoming a Sustaining Member so important? As we announced in our last email, the GGP has recently been awarded over $200,000 in grants to build the second and third growing domes; the Community Garden Dome and the Innovation Dome with construction starting as soon as the snow melts in 2018. With all of this success, reliable annual revenues will be needed to buy supplies, maintain the gardens, grow our educational program and most importantly, hire a professional greenhouse manager. Without at least a part time professional greenhouse manager who is knowledgeable in best practices for pesticide free greenhouse production and who can lead our dedicated volunteer staff, our domes cannot thrive.
Become a Sustaining Member by December 31, 2017, and your name will automatically be entered into our drawing. You can also make a onetime tax deductible donation and all donations of $250 or more qualify for a Colorado Enterprise Zone tax deduction. Visit our web site at www.pagosagreen.org. Go to the membership tab at the top and pick the option of your choice. For Sustaining Membership, be sure and fill in your monthly pledge amount in the box provided.
