EXTENDED BY POPULAR DEMAND! ‘Sylvia’ runs for one FINAL weekend July 22-24 – Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by calling 970.731.SHOW, via the web at www.pagosacenter.org or at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts box office
Thingamajig Theatre Company at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts presents Sylvia a romantic comedy about a man and his dog from now until July 17th. Thursday through Saturday at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at www.pagosacenter.org or by calling 731-SHOW.
The play begins as Greg, a middle-aged man living in New York’s Upper West Side discovers a stray dog in the park and becomes immediately infatuated. Sylvia (the namesake of the dog as well as the play) reciprocates Greg’s love with her own doggie devotion. Things look to be going wonderfully for the new couple until Greg’s wife, Kate, discovers Sylvia sprung on her. Kate, who is very much past the dog phase of her life, is disturbed by the fact that Greg’s attention, once so focused on his career, has shifted entirely to this new intruder. The play starts Tim and Laura Moore, the couple behind the Center for the Arts, who were last seen together in the Thingamajig Theatre Company’s production of Brilliant Traces, as well as talented Denver actor Robin Hebert who plays three very different and charmingly comical characters in the show and local favorite Lizz Baldwin as Kate.
