Register Teams for Annual Softball Blowout
Softball players interested in organizing teams to play in a local tournament which draws competition from around the Four Corners region can submit rosters during the coming weeks.
The annual Softball Blowout, which is in its twenty-ninth year and typically features double-elimination brackets for men’s and women’s teams, will be held at the high school sports complex Aug. 4 and 5. This year’s format is “hit your own,” and the registration deadline is Aug. 1.
Registration fees for both divisions (men’s and women’s) are $275; a $150 deposit will guarantee placement in a bracket prior to the start of the tournament. Registration fees can be paid by cashier’s check or money order, but no personal checks will be accepted.
Team managers interested in submitting rosters for this year’s tournament can contact Sue Jones, tournament sponsor, at 264-2642 for more details.

Cost to participate is $30. Participants must have nonmarking-soled athletic or tennis shoes. The recreation department may have some racquets available, but participants are encouraged to purchase and use their own equipment.
